Acne is one of my favourite labels as it’s so reflective of my look. I have always veered towards simple relaxed pieces with an edge. Nothing too tight and nothing too bright (except in very special circumstances), and I’ve always looked a little different from my peers. For example, at school I was teased for wearing so much black.

I visited Sweden for the first time recently. We spent the weekend in Stockholm and I realised it is my spiritual fashion home as all the girls were dressed a bit like me! I have never experienced anything like it. I excitedly explored all the shops and made some fantastic finds, all of which have been worn to death. By far the most exciting moment however, was going to the Acne flagship store. I discovered that way back on my mother’s side my family came to England from Norway, so I have Scandinavian blood pumping through my veins. This could explain my look and my taste in architecture and interior design (not to mention my penchant for Alexander Skarsgard!) and may be wholly responsible for my affinity with Acne. Only, you really don’t have to be Scandinavian to appreciate the genius of this label.

My sister invested in the Elaine Asymmetric Washed-Silk Gown by Acne this summer. It’s a very beautiful, subtle shade of blue and has a Grecian Goddess vibe. She is pictured here in her dress and a pair of turquoise and gold Louboutins, headed to a very special birthday party in Kensington Palace Gardens. For a paired down day to evening look try wearing with flat sandals and a gold cuff.
