April Shower

by Fluffleberry on April 30, 2012

My beautiful friend Emily threw me a baby shower and after a difficult journey through recent years it was the perfect way to draw a line under the past and celebrate all that is joyful in my life.

We had a lovely girlie tea party at the Bluebird involving cakes, scones and pink champagne and lots and lots of pressies for my little one. All my female friends and family were there and it was so lovely to look around the room and see the faces of people I love, all of whom have supported and helped me in some way. It was very emotional, especially when Emily made a heart felt and moving speech.

I haven’t had a party in years and I can’t remember the last time I felt so happy. So thank you so so much to the incredible Emily, my baby’s father Nicholas (who arrived later after treating me like a princess all day) and all who attended. I loved my party, I love my pressies and I love you!

I highly recommend having a baby shower to all of you expectant mummy’s but if I were you I would do it in the second trimester. I found my energy levels and fashion styling skills were pushed to the limit at this late stage!

In the end I went for as much vibrant colour and pattern as possible. I had fun with my accessories (as planned in recent blog posts). I wore my beloved Tom Binns safety pin bracelet and added serious sparkle with Butler and Wilson bling.

I wore my Spring/Summer 12  silk Chloe dress which is floaty and cool and even has pockets for added comfort. It is perfection for pregnancy but I know I will enjoy it for many summers to come. And here is how I’ll look when I’ve lost the baby weight!!!

It wasn’t exactly a warm day so I threw on my lovely Louis Vuitton leopard print scarf. Lots of other people have this scarf which sometimes bothers me but I know why they all have it. It is by far my favourite (and I am a keen collector of scarves). It is the perfect size, hangs in the perfect, slightly scruffy way and is super snuggly cashmere soft. What’s more leopard is the new neutral as it goes with everything. What’s not to love?

My sore little feet were treated to a soft, flexible pair of Juicy Couture ballet pumps with the signature logo print and little gold pendant.

It was such a fabulous party. Thank you, thank you, thank you x
