Interiors and Exteriors

by Fluffleberry on April 24, 2011

Following my last post and my new found interest in interior design I got to thinking about where fashion and interior design meet.

This Spring/Summer Mary Katrantzou showed her “This is not a room” collection. A super fun and totally wearable meeting of these disciplines.

One of my favourite designers, Hussein Chalayan won the award for “Outstanding Lifetime Contribution to Design” as voted by the public at the FX International Interior Design Awards 2009. His work often crosses into interior design and art.

I love clothes that cross boundaries. One philosophy I live by is to try to “make everything in life art” and I am happiest when the lines between fashion and other art forms are blurred.

I thought I would fill you in on a jewellery designer I have discovered recently, her name is Zelia Horsley. I’m always on the look out for original pieces that don’t break the bank and I am very pleased with my new earrings, not to mention the cute hand written note from the designer I got in the parcel.

A little bit art deco interior, a little bit Chanel S/S11, a lot love…
