Undercut The Competition

by Fluffleberry on February 13, 2011

As I have mentioned before I recently cut my hair off. I have traditionally had long hair and am sure I will again but I must say having short hair is kinda fun! It is providing me with an almost monthly opportunity to create and reinvent.

This month I was feeling rebellious so I shed my 1960s Twiggy do with a second visit to Lance at Taylor Made, Wigmore Street. A few snips later I am sporting a pixie cut with a twist, a little undercut!

I’ve been met with a mixed bag of reactions, but that’s the point. That’s me. Love me or hate me at least I’m not boring.

this is so cool….I am fed up with my middle length hair and am going to take your photo (and this laptop!) to the salon to see if I can re-create something like your hair!!

Wow! I’m so flattered! I say go for it, there’s nothing more transforming than a new hair do 🙂

Love, love LOVE this haircut!!! I found it on Pinterest recently, and have searched your blog for any other possible pictures of this cut from other angles so that I can show my stylist. Unfortunately, I am not able to find any. Is there any possibility you would share a photo or two of the front of the cut and side (when not behind the ear)? I have searched the internet for a similar cut but just cannot find anything like it.

Hi, I’m so sorry I had that hair cut such a long time ago that I can’t find any other interesting pictures of it. As you can probably tell on my blog it quickly changed, became more messy, then bleached and then blue etc. I wish I had taken more pics as there has been quite a lot of interest in the cut. If I were you I’d take a trip to London and go to the man who cut it, his name is Lance and he works at Carmina & Lancelot, 88 Wigmore Street. If you can’t make it I’m sure he’d love to hear from you at info@carminalancelot.co.uk, if you email him the photo he will remember and I’m sure he can give you some tips. Good luck with your cut 🙂

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my questions. Unfortunately, I am in the US and cannot get back to the UK. My last trip was back in ’06, and presently we are unable to travel far from home due to caring for our elderly parents at this time. However, I may try emailing Lance and see if he is able to provide some hints for my stylist.

Thank you again!
